Right now we ‘d received so much email scam mentioned that we have won lottery, award or any other type of won from NOKIA, Samsung, banking or else.
I also received it. For the first time, I’m so happy seem like we had won a big money. But my heart says it’s better to check first. The most famous agencies had claimed it is Microsoft Award. So what I do? I send an email to Microsoft regarding on this. Guess what… here the reply. Maybe you all should read it also for our information.
Hello,
Thank you for taking time to write us about this issue.
I understand from your message that you would like to report about a lottery e-mail. You did the right thing by writing to us about this e-mail before taking any further actions.
The message you received is a hoax and should be deleted. Microsoft is not sponsoring a lottery. This is a type of email known as a phishing scam or as an “Advance Fee Fraud” where intended victims are tricked into paying fees to receive a large sum of money for little or no work.
Microsoft is aware of this issue and working to improve online safety and to put the spammers and scammers out of business through:
1. Legislation, Public Policy, and Enforcement
2. Education and Awareness
3. Industry Collaboration
To see additional information on the steps Microsoft is taking to promote online safety, please visit this site: http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/safety/default.mspx
The several steps that you can take to avoid these types of e-mails are
1. Use a spam filter.
2. Reserve one e-mail address for family and friends, ideally a unique address with both letters and numbers. This will help to avoid emails sent to multiple common email addresses.
3. Do not respond to unsolicited e-mail from unknown senders. Asking to be removed from their lists may only encourage more spam.

Have a nice day!

p/s : Actually I’d send this email early of January 2009. So after this, keep beware from any email that claimed you had won. No matter the email has come from big company or you have never heard. Think logically, if you a user of Samsung, why could you has won Nokia Award? Or the popular phishing email is inherence/beneficiary from the death person. They are not too good to share their wealth with unknown person. They can go anywhere for their life if they’re to wealth. If you received it, just ignore it. If you really has won, they don’t have to ask your email add again.
